Installation Instructions

These instructions assume that you are running Windows 2000/XP and have installed Dreamweaver MX 2004 or later.

FaceletsTools Community Edition

FaceletsTools Community Edition is designed for standalone use in Dreamweaver, but is also fully compatible with JSFToolbox for Dreamweaver.

Please Note: To render Facelets pages in Dreamweaver's Design View, you need to install JSFToolbox 1.1 for Dreamweaver (or later) in addition to FaceletsTools Community Edition or FaceletsTools Professional.

FaceletsTools Professional Edition

FaceletsTools Professional is designed to integrate completely with JSFToolbox for Dreamweaver. This edition includes all the features of FaceletsTools Community Edition and adds the following features to Dreamweaver:

• JSF Data-Bound Facelets UI Tag Chooser Dialogs
• JSF Data-Bound Facelets UI Tag Property Inspectors
• JSF-EL Expression Parser with Design View Highlighting
• Powerful Facelets XHTML Formatter to Fix Invalid Markup

Installing the Software

The first step to getting started with FaceletsTools is to install the software using the Macromedia Extension Manager (see screenshot below). You can launch the Extension Manager from Start > Program Files > Macromedia menu.

Then choose File > Install Extension and browse to the JSFToolbox extension file that you downloaded. Once you have completed the installation procedure, you can launch Dreamweaver and start using FaceletsTools.
